I was thinking today what if rather then having abilities that buff characters you had abilities that buffed items, for example a ability that turns your flamethrower into a healing spray?

You mean a passive skill that turns a weapon into a healing item and lets you use the normal attacks as heals for a while, or do you mean an ability that works as a heal, but only works with a certain weapon type?

 

The latter is very possibible in ryzon, the first i dunno.

 

I think lots of weapon-type-specific skills would be great and it would also be great to have the possibility to create weapons with lots of options (like in ryzom - the game), and actually let different parts really change the workings of a weapon: for example: you could add a tesla coil to a machine gun, which then turns into an electrocuting machinegun. It may have other, negative effects as well, like for example less attacks per second.

It would also be cool to have certain attacks that - for example - only work on weapons with certain parts, like: an overcharge ability that shoots a highly electrified bullet (only one instead of 5 for example), but causes the weapon to do no electricity damage for 20 seconds (debuff).

I'd really love buffs that debuff at the same time, and the other way around.

Yup and you could even take it further to where each weapon has lets say 3 buff types, and you can only have one of each.
